📖 Variations
Caramel Apple martini
You can use caramel vodka in place of the plain vodka. You can also drizzle the inside of the glass with a little caramel sauce.
Cinnamon Apple Martini
Want to add a warm and cozy feel to these co*cktails? Use cinnamon vodka instead of plain vodka. It will give them a warm and spicy apple cider flavor.
Try Other Garnishes
The apple slice garnish is the best way to let people know the flavor of the co*cktail you're serving. But you can add even more festive color to these appletinis by rimming the glass with some caramel sauce. Then, just add some colored sanding sugar to a small plate and run the rim of the glass around in the sugar.
Swap Out the Apple Juice
The original recipe uses simple syrup instead of apple juice. So, if the schnapps has enough apple flavor for you, just swap it in equal parts with some homemade simple syrup. You can also use a little sweet and sour mix instead of the apple juice if you prefer.
Christmas Grinch Martini
All you have to do to create a super fun Grinch-themed martini is leave off the apple garnish and add a maraschino cherry to the green colored co*cktail.
Apple Cider Martini
Add a bit of extra fall flavor to these delicious drinks by using apple cider instead of apple juice.
Extra Apple Appletini
This recipe uses a green apple liqueur called Sour Apple Pucker. But you can add even more pucker to these drinks by using Smirnoff green apple vodka instead of plain vodka. You can also use apple brandy instead of the apple pucker, but you'll lose that pretty green color.
? FAQs
How Can I Cut Some of the Sweetness
If you prefer your martini recipes a little more on the tart side, I've got you covered! You can add an extra dash of lemon juice or a splash of fresh lime juice to really tone down the sweetness.
How Can I Make a Stronger co*cktail?
You can easily amp up the alcohol in this appletini recipe by skipping the apple juice altogether. Don't worry, you'll still get that signature martini flavor from the Apple Pucker.
Where Did the Green Apple Martini Originate?
Here's a fun fact! Interesting enough, the original appletini was called an Adam’s Apple Martini. It was called that because a bartender in a west Hollywood restaurant, named Adam, was the first one to come up with the recipe.
Though different variations have since been created, like adding a splash of house-made sweet and sour mix or orange liqueurs, the original recipe was made with just vodka and some Sour Apple Pucker to give it a melted Jolly Rancher flavor.
💭Top Tips
- A chilled co*cktail glass not only makes the drink pretty, but it also helps to keep it cold a little longer. Place your martini glasses in the freezer about an hour before making the co*cktails. To prevent the glass from cracking, make sure the glasses are room temperature and not straight out of a hot dish washer.
- If you want to keep the granny smith apple slices nice and fresh looking, spritz them with some fresh lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.
- Keep the vodka in the freezer at all times. When you add icy cold liquor to the shaker, it prevents the ice cubes from melting so quickly which waters down the drink.
